Please be aware local and county-wide anti-tax groups are providing voters misleading and incomplete information. These groups provide literature that states tax rates that are not representative of true anual taxation. What these charts DO show is that citizens in the Cheney community get great value for their investment in Cheney Public Schools.
Did You Know?
This is NOT a new levy. It is replacement of a levy that is set to expire in 2013.
Approximately 22 percent of the Cheney Public Schools Budget is made up of levy dollars. State and federal funding only provides about 75 percent of our overall budget.
With the passage of this levy, the district will receive approximately 1 million additional dollars in levy equialization funds. Without passage of this levy, we will not receive these funds.
The amount of money the district receives DOES NOT increase when property values rise.
